Five Ways to Enjoy your Queso de Bola!

As soon as the month of December hit the calendar, everyone gets busy doing all the preparations needed to make Christmas a special and unforgettable one. Aside from buying of gifts for our loved ones, committing with the traditional Simbang Gabi and decorating our homes with lights and Christmas trees, still, the food preparation will surely keep us busy for the Noche Buena, the climax of December.

Because Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus, the Redeemer and Savior of all mankind, then Noche Buena is about how we welcome Him in this world. And so, Christmas would not be perfect and complete if the dining table doesn't look festive. So, if you still haven't got a menu for your Noche Buena, we're giving you five recipes you and your family (even those in your neighborhood) will surely enjoy. But here's the twist, five different courses in one ingredient: Queso De Bola, the star of the Noche Buena.

Queso de Bola has always been part of everyone’s Christmas, especially in Noche Buena. From Noche Buena package given in an office party to the grocery items donated by "good-looking" politicians during the Christmas season, Queso de Bola will never be removed. And you might have a stock of Queso de Bola in your fridge, so instead of pairing it with ham and pandesal (as usual), why not do something for a change? Here are some ways to enjoy your Cheese balls.

1.     1. Herbed Queso de Bola Crisps

Queso de Bola made tastier and healthier. With a touch of herbs, your cheese balls will definitely get you hooked. Perfect for filling, this cheese-herb mixture will certainly capture the stomach of cheese-lovers and vegetarians. All you need to have is a teaspoon of rosemary and a cup of grated Queso de Bola. Just mix it together and spread in a baking sheet. You'll only have to allot five minutes for baking and two minutes for cooling. Then you can enjoy it with salad greens or indulge as is. Brace yourself; you might forget your name!

     2.     Queso de Bola Fondue

Who says Queso De Bolas are for stuffing only? It's good for dippers, too. This smooth, nutty and smoky fondue will absolutely bring a new taste and color to your usual Noche Buena. With the taste of apple cider and calamansi, this would be something you'll never forget. Just add everything in a saucepan (perhaps, one at a time) and once it melted and became smooth, you can have your ham, pandesal, ensaymada and chocolates dip into it. This is just the right thing if you want to go out and have a picnic with friends and families to celebrate your Christmas.

         3. Queso de Bola Toasts

Cheese spread but with a twist. You might think that this one's typical but wait until you taste it, you'll certainly never get your hands off it. This dish will give you a unique taste of bubbling Queso de Bola turned into slightly crisp, slightly chewy salt fix when cooled. All you need to do is mix all the ingredients needed (unsalted butter, grated Queso de Bola) and spread it on a white bread (you can cut the side crust). Put them in an oven toaster and after twenty or forty minutes, it’s ready to serve your appetite. Also a perfect gift or treats for cheese-lovers.

        4.     ChocNut Queso de Bola Cheesecake

First off, this one's really good and delicious. Th e name itself will make you crave, not to mention the creativity of this recipe. But wait, this is no ordinary cheesecake. Aside from the presence of choc nut, this one's had the flavor of Queso de Bola which made it even tastier and saltier. How about the redundancy of Queso de Bola and CHEESEcake? This is definitely cheesing-cheesy. However, the procedures are a bit complicated because you have to make the crust, and then the cheesecake and of course the cream. Baking this might take you an hour but I assure you it's worth the wait. Yum, yum, yum.

     5.     Queso de Bola Ice Cream

Do you love cheese more than your family? Then this recipe's right for you. This ice cream will definitely catch the attention of your visitors and become the highlight of the Christmas Eve’s festivity.
